Maple Bowl with Natural Edge
Maple, "Urban Forest" - Irvine, CA

A maple bowl with nice figure from a tree that was removed from a yard in Irvine. The tree was diseased and much of the wood turned out unusable but this small piece is probably the best that came from it.

$150

Pine Goblet
Ponderosa Pine

A small piece of Ponderosa Pine that includes the pith in the center so the rings give a bullseye appearance when viewed from the top.

$100

Olive Vase
Olive Wood, "Urban Forest" -- Orange, CA

When it came time for a neighbor to remove his olive tree an e-mail arrived asking if I wanted some. The answer is almost always yes to olive. A delightful wood to turn and the heartwood emits a wonderful aroma of virgin olive oil that fills the shop.

$350

Natural Edged Bowl
Coolibah

This is a simple bowl, intended to show off the beautiful wood. It is an Australian wood and, being a burl, often has natural cracks and fissures from the stresses involved from trying to grow many different directions all at once.

$150

Oak "Potato Chip" Bowls
Interior Live Oak, "Urban Forest" -- Tustin, CA

These are small oak bowls, the largest about five inches across, and are very thin, similar to a potato chip, hence the name.

$35 - 50 each.
